Boasting 256 colour screens, the Venture and Summit offer configurable pages with superb reception in all conditions. The click stick on the case makes navigating the screens easy and, with practice, can be operated with your thumb, even in gloves. Alarms keep you informed of progress on your journey and alert you to problems. As these models only have a fixed 24MB memory, any Topo mapping (bought separately) is limited to about half the size of the Lake District. The area can be changed quickly by overwriting the memory via the USB port.
