The following terms and conditions apply to all competitions, prize draws and giveaways that appear in Walk magazine unless specified in the specific terms for individual competitions:

  1. The closing date for all prize draws and giveaways from the Winter 11 edition of walk magazine is 20th February  2012 unless specified otherwise.
  2. There is no purchase necessary.
  3. Only one entry per person.
  4. There are no cash or prize alternative(s) unless stated otherwise.
  5. Prizes are non-refundable and non-transferable.
  6. Winner(s) will be picked at random from all correct entries after the closing date by an independent judging body. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  7. All elements of the prize(s) are subject to availability.
  8. Prize draws and giveaways are open to all UK residents except employees and families of the promoter(s), the Ramblers, River Publishing Ltd, plus any third parties or anyone professionally associated with the promotion.
  9. Entrants must be aged 18 or over unless otherwise stated.
  10. Entries received after the closing date cannot be considered.
  11. The winner(s) will receive their prize(s), or notification of their prizes, within 28 days of the closing date, unless otherwise stated.
  12. Holiday promoters reserve the right to offer an equivalent prize or prize of a higher value.
  13. Details of winners will be posted in the winners section of the website, by 20th March 2012.
  14. On taking up the offers featured in the magazine, the contract is with the supplier and not with the Ramblers or River Publishing.
  15. Online competition prizes and other details may vary slightly to those printed in the magazine.

Additional terms and conditions for Walk reader survey – Winter issue 2011

 

Comp T&C’s

The prize draw  is open to respondents to the survey aged 18 and over who are resident in the UK, other than employees (and their families) of River Publishing, and The Ramblers.

Entry is by answering the online questionnaire.

A winner will be selected at random from all valid entrants.

All prizes must be accepted as offered. No cash alternative.

The prize includes:

  • Accommodation for 4 adults based on 2 per std room for 3  nights – Sun, Mon & Tues
  • A guided walking day tour of the local section of the Palladian Way (Fosse Way) with author Guy Vowles of the book “Palladian Way” plus signed copies.
  • Free passes to the fabled Westonbirt Arboretum for a day with picnic lunches provided (leaving 1 day exploring).
  • 3 course AA Rosette a la carte dining in the hotel restaurant every night.

The closing date is noon on 14th January 2012.

 

Additional terms and conditions for Your View

Writers of published letters will win a prize as outlined in the Winter 2011 issue of Walk Magazine, although this may be subject to change.

Letters must arrive by 14 January 2012.

Letters may be edited and may be published in walk magazine and/or on walkmag.co.uk. We are not able to acknowledge letters.

 Prize details: The writers of all letters published will win a An Oasis Crewe top from Ice breaker worth £52.95

  1. The closing date is 21 January 2012.
  2. The prize is one Olympus E-PL3 (model subject to availability).
  3. No cash alternative to the prize will be offered and the prize is not transferable.
  4. There will be one winner, as chosen by the judge, who will be notified by telephone or email within 28 days of the closing date.
  5. The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  6. Delivery of prize to be arranged after this notification.
  7. Olympus Imaging & Audio reserves the right to substitute the prize to an equal or greater value should circumstances make this necessary.

Terms and conditions for photography uploads:

All images submitted must be the work of the individual submitting them. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any images they submit have been taken with the permission of the subject and do not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws. Entrants must warrant that the photograph they are submitting is their own work and that they own the copyright for it. Copyright in all images submitted for this competition remains with the respective entrants. Where an image is used, the photographer will be credited. However, by entering the competition, each entrant grants a worldwide, irrevocable licence to WALK MAGAZINE to feature any or all of the submitted images in any of their publications, their websites and/or in any promotional material connected to this competition for a period of no more than five years.

 

Terms and Conditions for the “Adventures in the Alps” (featured in Winter 2011 issue of walk magazine):

1. Closing date for entries 31st January 2012.

2. There is one prize of a five days walking holiday for two. Choose from six trips, including an Andy Goldsworthy Walking Tour in July or September.

3. Only one entry per person is allowed.

4. The prize includes return flights, plus airport transfers, six night’s accommodation (according to trip), breakfast and dinner each day, Five days guided walking (according to trip)

6. Travel insurance is not included.

7. The holiday must be taken within 12 months of the competition closing date.

8. The prize is non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash or altered if unable to be taken by the winner as specified.

9. Winner(s) will be picked at random from all correct entries after the closing date by an independent judging body. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
