City walk: Promising Leeds

Leeds marked its 800th birthday last year and contains a wealth of history, as well as shops to rival London's Knightsbridge, a vibrant nightlife and cultural scene, plus acres of beautiful countryside on its doorstep. All this in a place where everyone calls each other 'love' (it's alright, they're just being friendly). The compact city centre is ideal for exploring on foot: so go on love, give it a go.
