Welsh beauty spot saved

Ramblers Cymru, the Open Spaces Society and Carmarthenshire residents are celebrating after their objection to plans to transform a local beauty spot into a motorbike scrambling area was upheld. Mynyddygarreg Mountain enjoys spectacular views from Caldy Island to the Brecon Beacons. Mike Mills, Ramblers’ Cymru rights-of-way officer, said: “It would have destroyed the area’s peace and tranquility. We welcome the council’s decision.”
