Uncovering archaeology
Despite a bit of rain, The Festival of British Archaeology got off to a flying start this weekend, with an extensive program of guided walks planned throughout the two week celebration. Among the highlights are evening walks among ancient ruins, tours of ongoing excavations and hands-on activities for the whole family.
Overlapping nicely with National Parks Week, the Festival includes digs at sites like Bellever in Dartmoor National Park (left), where visitors will be able to see archaeology in action at the excavation of a pre-historic round house and take a guided walk.
There really are too many events to choose from, so visit the festival website to search for what’s on near you, or click here to download the entire guide as a PDF (2.55MB).
