Nominations open for Volunteer Awards

ramblersLOGOA special awards scheme to recognise Ramblers volunteers is now open for nominations. As part of the 75th anniversary celebrations, Ramblers is inviting members to submit details of volunteers whose extraordinary contributions have helped further the charity’s cause.

Individuals can be nominated in any of nine categories:
Membership Award for making joining an area/group as welcoming, easy and simple as possible.
Led Walks Award for increasing the number of walkers on a group walk and making the walks as interesting as possible.
Growing the Organisation Award for increasing area/group membership and making newcomers feel welcome.
Campaigner Award for a major campaign success at local area/group or county level that positively affects or involves the local community.
Introducing People to Walking Award for encouraging new sections of the community to walk.
Successful Committee Member Award for excellent service to group/area committees.
Local Council Partnership Award for working with a local council to achieve a positive outcome for walkers.
Community Partnership Award for successfully collaborating with other local organisations to further walking or help walkers.
Media Award for achieving regular and positive local media coverage.

Nominations are open until 1 October 2010, after which the winners will be chosen by a special panel of judges and announced in the winter edition of walk. To nominate someone or find out more about the awards, email volsupport@ramblers.org.uk or visit www.ramblers.org.uk/volunteer.
