Mountain high

bffHeld each year in the picturesque town of Banff in western Canada, the Banff Mountain Film Festival is one of the largest and most prestigious in the world – offering thought-provoking mountaineering and outdoor films from all over the globe. Travelling from remote landscapes and cultures to adrenaline-packed action sports, the films showcase the efforts and talents of the world’s finest mountain filmmakers – and now you’ll be able to see them in the UK.

The festival’s 2010 World Tour is a treat for mountain enthusiasts and those with a spirit of adventure. Through the big screen you can experience the highlights of adventure sports such as climbing, kayaking, alpine skiing and mountain expeditions, while visiting remote cultures and some of the world’s last great wild places.

UK tour dates are as follows:

·29 January  –  Mitchell Theatre, Glasgow
·3 and 4 February  –  Union Chapel, Islington, London
·6 February  –  Theatre By The Lake, Keswick
·11 February  –  Komedia Club, Brighton
·13 February  –  Dancehouse Theatre, Manchester
·18 February  –  Carriageworks Theatre, Leeds
·20 February  –  Theatr Mwldan, Cardigan
