Milngavie Book & Arts Festival

As part of this year’s Milngavie Book & Arts Festival, there are two planned walks along the West Highland Way…

Walk and Visit to Glengoyne Distillery – Friday 10th September
This 6.5-mile walk and visit to the Glengoyne Distillery leaves the West Highland Way Marquee at 10am with the return journey by public bus at 14.55. The whole walk is along the WHW and takes in at its early stages the flowing River Allander, the Mugdock Woods and Craigallian Estate.

Walk and Visit to Mugdock Castle – Saturday 11th September
A 6-mile walk and visit to Mugdock Castle leaving from the West highland Way Marquee at 10.30am, the route will follow the River Allander and then weave through the ancient Mugdock woods to the Castle. At the Castle, access has been arranged to the south east tower where there are extensive views across the countryside.
