Going up

Due to popular demand, extra places have now been added for the West Somerset Mineral Railway guided walk Tuesday 18 August. Part of an ongoing series of events exploring the West Somerset Mineral Railway, the uphill walk starts at 10am at Ralegh’s Cross Inn on Exmoor, taking in the Incline (a 1 in 4 climb) and Winding House, which has recently been conserved as a result of Heritage Lottery funding.
The West Somerset Mineral Railway Project was awarded a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund in 2007 to conserve and interpret the Mineral Line which was used in Victorian times to transport iron ore from the Brendon Hills to Watchet. Good walking boots or Wellingtons are essential, as is booking, so call ✆ 01398 323841 to avoid disappointment.
