Editor’s Wish List: Autumn 2012

walk editor Dominic Bates on three things he’s looking forward to this season…

Joining… a Walk in the Woods Week

Now that the Government is considering a hugely positive report on the future of England’s forests, remind them and yourself what it’s all about with a week of free Ramblers-led walks through woodland across Britain. It starts on 27 October and is open to all. Visit www.ramblers.org.uk/woodlandwalks for details.

Walking… the roof of The O2

This has to be the most unusual led walk in London: a new 90-minute trek across the roof of the Millennium Dome (or The O2, as it is now). I wonder if the Ramblers can claim it as a right of way?
Visit www.UpAtTheO2.co.uk for details.

Cooking… with the DofE cookery app

I’ve grown bored of beans on recent camping trips, so I’m looking forward to trying Masterchef-winner Mat Follas’ recipes on this new outdoor cookery app, created for the Duke of Edinburgh‘s Award and available from iTunes.
