Contour Track

Contour Track Contour Track - easy walking (men's) £54.99

Given the category, Contour Track doesn't look like an approach shoe. To be honest they feel heavy (1,040g) and clumpy on the feet, despite boasting a 'Cushionlight' sole. That's not to say they're no good; it's just that they are more an intermediate walking shoe. Indeed, their maker says they are "derived from

our best-selling trail boot". The Contour pedigree is, after all, mountaineering. Walking on the edge of Dartmoor they definitely proved too stiff for flat-trail wanders. Conversely they'd perform well on rockier walks where firmness underfoot is of more importance. The unforgiving hardness does have an advantage: they'll last years of wear and tear being built, a touch too much methinks, like a brick.
