They were certainly comfortable but both boots let in water through the stitching between the toe and the lowest part of the boot tongue when I took them out for their first walk through dew-laden fields this morning. They certainly did not behave as the manufacturer claimed and they’ve been returned to the retalier.

When I got home both feet were wet as the boots let water in through the stitching. Have emailed Hi tec as I bought boots while away on holiday so can’t take them back to shop. I try on boots as a hobby – always looking for the Holy Grail – a pair that fits. The ball is usually narrow, or it bends in the wrong place. But the search is over. These are the first boots I’ve ever worn which have been comfy from the box and continued to be so. Worn them every day for a fortnight – mostly in snow and on ice but also in a stream – with no problems at all. Still plenty of challenges ahead to test the waterproofing, but so far so good.
