Deuter 32 ACT Trail daypack

One of the few packs tested to stick with a non-concave back system, the Trail comes up trumps for comfort. Padded spines provide enough separation to allow good ventilation while not slicing into internal storage space. One major downfall was highlighted on a rainy day when water snuck past the raincover defences, down the back, and straight through to my gear inside. Shoulder straps give the impression of lacking padding, but in practice are as comfortable as you like; same goes for the waist straps which fit snugly. Storage space is adequate, although the top pocket is for nibbles only. All in all a sturdy, hard-wearing pack that proves the simple approach is often best because it works.
