+ Good windproof with some water proofing. Three zipped pockets, including a chest pocket with a cable slot for a phone or MP3 and a good-sized map pocket. Comfortable fleece lining with storm flap and hidden elasticated cuffs.
– The zips! The main zip is fiddly – not good with cold hands. The ventilation zips rubbed against our arms. The pointless collar drawcord is uncomfortable and difficult to use. No female version.

Verdict: This jacket is a little bulky for a soft shell, especially if you combine it with an outer layer.
