I agree with Dave Robinson (4.6.09). Why should we be advised to walk around a field egde when a farmer has blocked the officlal “Right of Way” path with a crop. He is the one that is responsible, to re-instate the path – within a given period, I believe a matter of weeks for the general public to use.

use common sense, walk around and either raise your conserns with the farmer/ land owner in question, or alternatively contact your local council highways and access officer to report it. Don’t just trample over a crop or vandalise a route, it may be closed for good reason and in some cases by permission of the highways & access office.
There are many ways to gain and ensure good access and relations with those in the countryside.

Never thought I would be advised to walk around a field when the legal line is blocked by a crop on the Ramblers website.
