Along several parts of the Dorset coast mobile phone coverage is poor to non-existant and sometimes mobiles connect only to French transmitters. I'm concerned what I could do in an emergency. Would there be a langauge difficulty? Would a french operator understand the O.S. grid reference system? It's likely they are unaware of it!

Has anyone experience of what happens when a mobile is connected to a french emergency network?
