And the winner is…
The winner: Three Men and a Dog by Gordon Robson, Stockport; and highly commended: Antarctic Peninsula by Mike Landy, Wantage, and Snowy Blencathra by Graeme Kelly, Penrith.
“There’s no doubt about it: the standard of this competition just gets higher and higher, and this round was particularly tricky to judge. That said, Gordon Robson’s image stood out for its graphic, monochromatic simplicity. The path taken through the frame by the road and fence is perfect, augmented by the surprise of finding the three men and their dog at the foot of the image. If it wasn’t for Gordon discerning the ideal viewpoint, this image wouldn’t work. Top drawer stuff!”
