Walking Celebrity of the Year

It’s the second time Walk readers have nominated the BBC presenter, and it looks like the Ramblers hierarchy has finally caught up with you, voting her in as the new Ramblers President at General Council in April. It’s not too much of an exaggeration to say that her hugely popular Wainwright Walks, Railway Walks and Coast to Coast series on TV have singlehandedly changed the public’s perception of hillwalking in recent years – bringing her boundless enthusiasm and a touch of glamour to what was seen as a traditionally male-dominated and unfashionable hobby. Surely now, Julia Bradbury has earned the right to be called Britain’s First Lady of Walking?
