I’ve had my favourite rucksack – a Berghaus Extrem Pro – for ten years, taken it around the world and it’s never let me down. Unfortunately they don’t make this model anymore, but for a sturdy, hiking-specific daypack the Freeflow 25+5L (£60) is a perfect companion.
